Make Your Task Of Finding An Honest, Friendly and Professional Contractor and Company easier. That’s it. That’s our goal.

We do this by vetting each Contractor and Company in the following manner:

  • We do contact three (minimum) past clients and hear what they have to say
  • We do our best to ensure they are licensed and insured.
  • We do have a one-on-one interview with the Contractor or a Representative of the Company.

If we’re not satisfied (at our sole discretion) with any of these steps, we do take a pass on them.

However, we don’t hold our vetting out to be infallible. The homeowner must perform their own thorough screening and due diligence of any Contractor, Trade, Sub-trade, or Company of whom they are thinking of hiring.

Remember!! It’s the homeowner’s sole responsibility to make sure that everyone they hire has the correct credentials and insurance. Here are a few tips that may be of assistance when performing your own vetting.

Below are some general rules of thumb when looking for a Contractor or Service provider (This list is not exhaustive and is only meant to assist you in your decision making):

  • Always interview at least three (3) companies before making a decision.
  • Ask to see their license and check here for more info. Click on the ‘Public’ tab to insert their name.  (If it’s a trade that does not require a license, do they have a Certificate of Qualification (Red Seal)?
  • Do they and/or their employees (or sub-trades) have WSIB coverage? Here’s a link for more info on the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.
  • Do they have an H.S.T. number? If not, why?
  • It can never hurt to check the Better Business Bureau for additional information on the Contractor/Service provider in question
